A Chatham-Kent police officer will take the witness stand again today in the trial of a Windsor man accused of causing a fatal crash during Retrofest two years ago, the team of Entegrus employees who were headed south to help with the cleanup in Florida after Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton are back headed home a little earlier than expected, and the local totals are in from the recent CIBC Run for the Cure in Chatham.

Sergeant Jason Herder testified as an expert witness Thursday, saying that all evidence points to a Windsor man causing a fatal crash near Chatham two years ago. The Entegrus crew sent to Florida to help with the aftermath of the recent hurricanes has been called home. A Tilbury man found passed out behind the wheel is facing several charges. A fire at Walpole Island First Nation last night sent three people to the hospital including one firefighter. Two new doctors are joining the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

A fire at Walpole Island First Nation last night sent three people to the hospital including one firefighter, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is welcoming two new doctors to its ranks and both of them are accepting referrals, and the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation has received a generous donation that will help families who have a loved one in hospice care.

Meteorologists say Hurricane Milton has doubled in size since yesterday and will make landfall in Florida tonight.
